Mortgages are now regulated by the Financial Services Authority. The FSA is the independent watchdog that regulates financial services. Insurance products are sold under Insurance Conduct of Business guidelines. Please note we may record telephone conversations and client meetings to ensure we fully understand your requirements.
Types of cover
For the residential mortgage borrower we will look at your circumstances and review your existing cover - private or employer provided - and make a recommendation as to the type and amount of cover needed to meet your requirements. This can include any of, or a combination of the following -

- Mortgage Protection or Term assurance
- Accident, Sickness and unemployment Cover.
- Income Protection - short term and long term
- Family Income Benefit.
- Whole of Life plans
- Critical Illness Cover
- Building and Contents Insurance
We will discuss your needs and health in detail and make a recommendation to you based on the insurers criteria, claims history and your affordability.
We will also discuss the benefits of placing any plan we arrange for you in a flexible trust and help you with the paperwork.
We believe this is a very important area of discussion and we will usually arrange a meeting to discuss all the above AFTER the mortgage processing has started.
For the commercial or buy to let borrower we will look at your circumstances and review your existing cover and make a recommendation as to the type and amount of cover needed to meet your requirements. This can include any of, or a combination of the following -

The fee we charge will depend on your circumstances, but we estimate that the charges will be based on an hourly basis of £105 plus VAT. However because we will receive a commission from the insurance company over a period of 4 years we will waive our fees as long as the policy remains in force during the first 4 years.
In all cases we will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each type of plan with you. We will also discuss the benefits of writing your cover in trust and we will assist with all the paperwork.
